            Going for Gold!

September 2020: We hope you can understand that with the current COVID-19 situation, Going for Gold has had to be put on hold for the time being.  However, please be assured that as soon as it is safe to continue with the G4G programme then it will be up and running once again. Thank you for your support.

This innovative, extra-curricular opportunity was initially introduced six years ago where it received rave reviews from parents and children alike! We are very excited to be offering this fantastic opportunity for the seventh year running.

In a nutshell, ‘Going for Gold’ is our version of a skills based award, similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award, but for our younger children in Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6. Each year group will be invited to take part in a programme at one of four progressive levels which, when successfully completed, will lead to a Copper (Y3), Bronze (Y4), Silver (Y5) or Gold (Y6) Award.

The aim of this new initiative is to provide our children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of enriching activities and learn new skills, whilst encouraging them to ‘be the best they can be!’

There are activities for each academic year. Each activity will require children to attend after school clubs where the children will learn new skills and play an active role in achieving their award.

More information regarding dates and times will be provided closer to the scheduled times they will be carried out. Please see the school calendar for the dates for the after school sessions across the year.
