Going for Gold!

This innovative, extra-curricular opportunity was introduced two years ago where it received rave reviews from parents and children alike! We are very excited to be offering this fantastic opportunity for the third year running.

In a nutshell, ‘Going for Gold’ is our version of a skills based award, similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award, but for our younger children in Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6. Each year group will be invited to take part in a programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, will lead to a Copper (Y3), Bronze (Y4), Silver (Y5) or Gold (Y6) Award. There is also an extra and optional award offered to Y6 children in the Summer term which is the GEMs award.

The aim of this new initiative is to provide our children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of enriching activities and learn new skills, whilst encouraging them to ‘be the best they can be!’
