Athletics and Cross Country

Indoor Athletics

Another fantastic result for the children here at Woodlands. Unfortunately, again we just came up short with a brilliant second place (missing out by just 6 points on top spot). There were some real stand out performances from our relay teams, speed bouncers and throwers. As always, I was blown away with everyone's effort and team spirit. Well done team! We'll get top spot soon enough.

Cross Country

Congratulations to the 6 children, who took part in the first Cross Country event at the sports village. They ran 1 mile and took the top 3 spots. Fantastic running boys and girls.

Quad Athletics

The Woodlands Quad Athletics Team went to the EPSV to compete in a multitude of running, jumping and throwing events. Against some strong competition, they ended up winning the tournament and progressing through to the county finals in Macclesfield. Well done team!

Cross country series 2017-2018

Ellesmere Port and Neston Cross Country Series.

There will be four races in total: Year 3/4 girls, year 3/4 boys, year 5/6 girls and year 5/6 boys. There will be no charge for the children taking part each week- it is a turn up and race event. It is open to all abilities!

The first race is to start at 10am, with children and supporters arriving from 9:30am onwards.

If your child wishes to take part in these events there is no limit to places. A member of staff will be present at each event however parents are required to stay during the event to supervise and support their child. Parents will be required to take and pick up their child at each event.

They are also planning to host a 'fun-dash' which will be a small race intended for any younger children who are along supporting their brothers or sisters. This is just for fun and to gives them the opportunity to get involved.

21st April - Our Lady's

Huge congratulation to ALL of those children who took part in the cross country at Woodfall Primary. Myself and Miss Hudson couldn't be prouder of the effort shown by all the children there. A big thank you also needs to go out to all the parents who supported their children and brought them along on a wet and windy day. We both look forward to doing it all again on the 18th November at Williston Primary.

Willaston Primary

Fantastic effort from the whole Woodlands Team at a chilly and wet Willaston Primary School. I was amazed by the determination and energy from each and every single one of you.

Well done to all those children who improved on their positions from Woodfall. What an amazing effort from everyone.

The team were bolstered from some new faces especially from Year 3 and 4. I hope you enjoyed your first race and I would love to see you again at the next race day!

Bishops Wilson Primary

Well done on an extremely diffiicult course. Everyone who went can help me explain but although it just looked like a field the slight hills on either side proved very challenging and took the wind out of alot of runners. An extremely good turn out yet again with Year 5 Girls especially deserving a mention with 5 girls in attendance.

Little Sutton Primary

Well done on an extremely wet morning and a course, which proved quite tricky with its hills and curves. Not as many as a usual Saturday, however a couple of new faces to the team in Oli and Mac. Great runnnig boys -- I hope you enjoyed it and are ready for the next race at St Bernhard's.

Well done everyone.
