AfriTwin

Connecting Classrooms is a programme funded by the British Council. Schools from around the world are connected together to promote diversity and work together to share best global practice.

There are a total of nine schools in our Afritwin partnership; three schools each from South Africa, Zimbabwe and the UK, from both primary and secondary sectors. Mrs Ballance, from Whitby High School, is the lead co-ordinator. Woodlands is twinned with Sokhanyo Primary, South Africa, and Mutendi Primary, Zimbabwe.

On 23rd October 2014, Mrs Dean visited schools in Zimbabwe. She had the most amazing African adventure!

To find out more, please read her African Adventure blog and watch the elephant DVD.

All children had special assemblies celebrating this partnership on Thursday 6th November. Mrs Dean presented a powerpoint presentation to KS2 children. Please view it to capture and share special moments.

Feel the spirit of Africa…
